Mojo Time (No. 138)

Busy, busy, busy... why are we all so busy nowadays? We must take time to do what's important in our lives. That being said, being creative is important to me. What about you? How do you express your creativity? What is important to you? Are you making enough time for what's important?

I am looking forward to the upcoming art workshops with Beryl Taylor and Susan Lenart Kazmar next month. Can't wait, is more like it! Three days of non-stop creativity! OK - it's Mojo time! Here's the challenge sketch:

And here's my Mojo offering for MojoMonday No. 138:

Need more Mojo

It's time for mojo - this time I have a pet sympathy card to share with you. My dear friend, Diana, had to put down two of her beloved poodles last weekend, so I've made this card to give to her. My heart goes out to her in this time of loss. I know what it's like to loose one dog, I can't imagine loosing two at one time! They are family.

The movie 9 was excellent. I'm usually not into the whole sci-fi thing, but this was really good. We've had a very busy week so I'll post an update later. Zero's surgery went well on Thursday.

MojoFriday?

MojoFridayNaturally, I did not get every Mojo sketch done this past week, although I will make them all! There are some wonderful ones. Here is "MojoFriday" - a sketch by Teresa Kline that caught my eye. I did take a little liberty with the sketch as I wanted to use this stamp - I turned the sketch on it's side and omitted the bow. I double stamped this one, as I've been liking the effect lately. I love this stamp as it so closely resembles one of my favorite flowers, the butterfly orchid. I used to grow orchids and that was one of the orchids that I absolutely could not grow! Others thrived under my care, but not that one. I just love orchids and have just one left now that blooms every spring right around Easter.

Little One's Mojo?

It's time for more Mojo, Mojo Monday to be exact. This time we have a baby card. I do not do a lot of baby cards, but a co-worker friend is having a baby and the shower is on Tuesday for her. That is, if she doesn't have the little bundle of joy over the weekend - we are cutting it close! Anyway, this one is for Sarah's little one. I really liked Julie's card and you can see the influence in this one. Yes, I ordered myself some Verve stamps this weekend. How could I not? The designs were so wonderful. I also got some older designs I've been wanting. I can't wait to start using them when they arrive.

It's time for MOJO!

I'm working on an earlier start to my Mojo this week considering my usual late Sunday afternoon postings. It's been a dismal week at work for me, so it's been a treat to get away to make a card to share with you today. For whatever reason right now (see last post) I am lovin' the combo of the yellow/blue. It has such a summer feeling to it. For yellow, SU's So Saffron is a personal favorite of mine and I haven't met a blue that I didn't like. LOL!

Mojo Time!

mojomonday_972

After an extremely busy week and weekend, I am posting Mojomonday at the very last minute yet again. As my boss's mother passed away, I needed a sympathy card. I wanted something not at all dismal, as she passed away after a long illness. Here we have the inside of the card.

Get your Mojo on!

mojoMonday_96

Here it is, time for MojoMonday yet again. I decided to make an early start of it this time and not work on my card Sunday evening (LOL). This is one of my newest stamps, the watch face from the "Sense of Time" from Stampin' Up. LOVE IT! When I saw the sketch this week with the big 'ole circle in the middle, I just knew I had to use this stamp! I hope you like it. Marc loves it, but he would, as he collects pocket watches.

Time for Mojo

MojoMonday_95
Running late as usual, but here's my Mojo, just in time to watch for tomorrow's sketch! One note: this is my first time stamping with Verve stamps and I love my new set, Kindred Spirits. I must say, it was amazing how quickly I received them and how beautifully they were wrapped. Excellent service from a wonderfully creative stamp company... That's what I say! You might be able to tell from my blog design and even my watermark and siggy that I'm a bit partial to fleur de lis!

Running late, so a further description will have to follow, but here's the lowdown:

Credits time:
Stamps: Kindred Spirits by Verve
Cardstock: Stampin' Up in So Safron, Baja Breeze, Black; DP: Sassafras
Necessities: Spellbinders Pendant Fleur De Lis, Fiskars Apron Lace Punch, Vintage Button, and Stampin' Up Taffeta Ribbon in Riding Hood Red

Yet Another MojoMonday

MojoMonday_week93

This time I got an early start on MojoMonday, at least for me. I'm usually making my card on Sunday! I love the new Stampin' Up In Colors, but I am going to miss the old colors, especially Kiwi Kiss! I felt like being different this time. I don't know if it's the 4th of July thing, or what, but I'm into stars right now. Love the stars.

Credits time:
Stamps: Papertrey Ink
Cardstock: Kiwi Kiss & Baja Breeze - Stampin' Up
DP: Wild Raspberry Green & Blue Paisley K&Company and Stampin' Up

I hope every has a wonderful and safe 4th of July weekend!

Play Along

card_july4invite
I haven't played along with MojoMonday in quite awhile... I have a barbeque party coming up in two short weeks and had been toying with ideas for 4th of July themed invites. The party is actually a birthday party for our beloved Jac, who will be seven years old. Of course, it will also be a welcome the new puppy party too, much to Jac's chagrin! I think this turned out rather nice. Smudges are my own worst enemy when I'm in a hurry, as I was tonight.

Note: I've seen many card makers using these flower frogs to post pics of their cards and I can see why. They hold them so well! I had a bit of difficulty finding one, but I was determined at our major flea market today. I think it's rather fun!

MojoMonday Week 81

I have decided to try my hand at MojoMonday. I had fun with this one.

Details: Cardstock & Designer Paper by Stampin' Up, Ribbon by Martha Stewart, "Happy Smiles" stamp by Hero Arts (this is one of my favorite stamps), punches by Stampin' Up, a touch of Stickles Glitter in Crystal to accept the "Happy Smiles." I even threw in a butterfly (a/k/a Papillon) for my dog Jac! He's a Papillon. The dog breed, not a butterfly... I left out the three brad, dots, whatever at the bottom right as my DSP has a dotted pattern to it already.

Happy Easter, Passover, Springtime - which ever you celebrate!

Enjoy,
-Roberta
