Fave app Monday

I've posted about Pandora before - you know those adorable little charms (and accessories) they sell at Jared Jewelers and their own shoppes around the country.

Well, they have their own app for viewing their catalog. I'd give it a rating of 2.5 stars and here's why:

I love to shop, and the pictures of each charm (and item) is shown with the price. You can create your own lists of items you own or want to add to your wish list (you must create an online account to do this). I've not been able to get the app to remember them when I come back later... What's the point of adding them if they don't save to a wish list for when you go to actually purchase them?

If you aren't already into Pandora I'll warn you right now that these things are addicting! They're like candy - one is not enough. Jared just had a spend $100 - get a free bracelet. Not a bad deal. Apparently they do this periodically so watch for the sale.

Their competition, Chamelia & Troll beads do not have an app, yet, anyway.

Fave app Monday

I waited for YEARS for Blogger to come out with a mobile app to be able to post - not just view already posted entries... That moment has finally arrived. As you know, I've been using an app called "Blogpress" to do this for the past few months & it works well. In my initial trials of the brand new Blogger app I find it to be ok for blogging on the go, but Blogpress still has features to beat it. In Blogpress I can upload future postings & edit them if needed. I can also preview them before uploading. Both are necessary in my book! So, for now I'll stick with Blogpress. If you haven't already purchased Blogpress, then the Blogger app may be sufficient for you as the Blogger app is free while Blogpress is still $2.99. Happy blogging!

Fave App Monday

Do you like to journal? I have always kept a journal for as long as I can remember (those books with the lock & key!), but I don't like to write multiple pages at a time. Short & sweet to capture the spirit of the day. This is important if you're keeping a happiness journal or such. As I do just about everything on my iPhone it was important to have an app that does just this. I found Memento . This app not only let's you capture your inner most feelings in written form, but you are able to pull in your Facebook posts, Twitter feed, Flickr uploads, You Tube uploads, Instagram uploads & more! You can predate & postdate entries as well as add photos to your entries. If journaling is part of your life, this would be a great addition to your must have apps.

Moonlight Mahjong Lite

It's time for fave apps Monday - today the featured app is: Moonlight Mahjong Lite. As the "lite" suggests, this is a free app available through Apple's iTunes store. I love to play mahjong and can amuse myself for hours with it. This version is different because of the dimensional effects it offers. You can spin the game board all around, position wherever you want it on the screen and if course zoom in & out. The ads are of minimal nuisance (unlike some that pop up in lite apps) & the dimensional aspect is just plain cool! If you like board games, definitely try this one out. You won't be disappointed.

Fave Apps Monday

Today's app is "Accounts" and I have to tell you that this app is a life saver for me. I use this app not only to balance my checkbooks, but also to track the balances on my credit cards. It helps me to live within my means, which is wonderful. I've been using it for a couple of years actually... I have tried other budgeting & account reconciliation apps, and I actually find this one less complicated yet robust enough for my needs. At $0.99 it's a bargain.

Fave app Monday

I truly debated about getting WDW LINES from Touring Plans.com. Afterall, the app is free to download, but it costs $10.95 per year for the subscription fee to access the crowd calendars & attraction wait times which is the main purpose of the app! I had heard about this app on the WDW Today podcast & decided to give it a try. I have found it to be very helpful in planning our upcoming trip & plan to try it out in the parks for the wait times at that time. So far, I'd rate it at a 4 (out of 5). I'll let you know afterwards truly how helpful it has been.

Fave app Monday

Are you a Walt Disney World fan? Do you visit the theme park? If the answer was yes to either, but especially both questions then I have an app that may interest you: WDW hours. This app lists the published WDW park hours which is convenient if you're planning a trip to the WDW theme parks.

Fave App Monday

I know it's called "fave" app Monday, but today I'm going to review an app that does not fall it that category: Dogbook. I love the idea behind this app. Setting up a profile & posting entries as your dog...and being able to connect to your doggy friends. But this app for the iPhone never seems to work right. You bring up a posting page, write it up & click on the submit & it errors. As this app rarely works, I cannot recommend it.

Fave App Monday

Do you Etsy? If you do then you'll want to check out Etsy Addict. I've had if for some time and it's pretty useable for searching for items & viewing your hearted items. This is not put out by Etsy (I don't see that Etsy has an official mobile app available), so it's features are limited. It does not allow you to list an item if you're a seller, you can't make a purchase if you're a buyer, and you can't create a treasury. I'd rate it a 3, it's not bad/it's not great. But it is a decent option if you Etsy.

Fave app time

Welcome back to Monday's feature, Fave Apps. Do you make lists? Then this week's app is for you: Errands. Errands let's you make lists, label them, set deadlines (if you so choose), prioritize them & you can even keep lists of lists. A favorite feature I use often is to set them up to reoccur. I use this to remind me to pay monthly bills (like my cell phone bill). This app is free for the full feature app, with an option to pay to support the developer.

I've had pics of Zero a lot lately and I thought it was time to have Jac. Jac will be celebrating his birthday next week.

Fave App Monday

In today's post, I am going to introduce you to a new feature. If you've checked out this blog before, you know I'm a fan of iPhones, iPods and iPads. Living in an "i" world, I have some fave apps that I'd like to share with you.

First up is Pulse News. This is a free app that allows you to catch up on your blog reading on your mobile device. It's a godsend if you read as many apps on your iPhone as I do everyday. Actually, if I were to make one improvement to this app, it would be to allow more blogs to be followed. What is wonderful about it is that you can "star" your favorite blog posts to refer to later. The starred posts can be shared to other readers, such as Evernote, Read it Later and Instapaper. You can also share fave blog posts directly via FB and Twitter.

Enjoy,
