Finally

DiB-Day_Card
I believe I have finally shaken whatever this bug is that had me feeling bad. Yeah! No more coughing, sneezing, wheezing... at least for now! I had a wonderful weekend and was able to work in my studio. I am working on some submissions, so sorry - I cannot post them for you! But, here is a peek at a b-day card for a friend. I think it's very pretty and cheery - at least that's the look I'm going for! I did some paper piercing on this one. That was a lot of fun. I've been doing some sewing on paper too on my other projects. As a quilter, that's a lot of fun for me too. :) I guess it's the perfect mix of the two hobbies for me! LOL

The new MojoMonday is out. I've got to get busy on that and finish my other projects. Oh boy - don't forget work! Yikes... gotta pay for this somehow. Gotta go now.

Need a vacation!

card_margarita_celebration
Now that summer time is here, I thought it was time for a summertime card. Love this stamp by Impression Obsession. It goes so well with the DSP by FlairDesigns.com called Cool Waters. Sentiment is by Impression Obsession too. Card stock by Stampin' Up. I used my Copic markers to color the image and used my classic circle nestabilities, followed by the inverted scallop nestabilities. Just love 'em! They give that sun ray effect.

Yesterday we spent the afternoon at my friend Julie's house and went out on the lake for a time on her speed boat. We brought my dog Jac along - this was his first time out on a boat and he just loved it! The wind in his face, the spray of the water - he couldn't get enough. I was so proud of him. His buddy, Meeka (who is a rat terrier) was there too. She is such a daredevil on the boat. She loves to stand on the bow of the boat. I wouldn't let Jac up there, although he wanted to follow Meeka up there. I'm a protective dog mommy...

Enjoy,

Smell the coffee

KWernerDesign.com Color Inspiration Challenge #50

Ok, it may be a bit late in the day for me for a cup of coffee (but it could be a decaf, right?) - but it was love at first sight when I saw these stamps by Impression Obsession. The perfect recipe for the 50th KWernerDesign Color Inspiration Challenge! I had fun putting this one together. My dog, Jac, sat quietly next to me while I worked on this project. He's a very patient assistant! I've had a busy (and expensive) week, as I'm now on a Flickr pro account - something I should have done long ago. So very easy to use. I ordered some more nestabilities and cannot wait for them to arrive. I also joined the Splitcoaststampers so I can learn more about this stamping addiction that I seem to share with a lot of people. This leads me back to my card - it is based on an SCC card sketch, number 137 to be exact. I had found this beautiful glitter paper (DCWV Kitchen Coffee Strips), and used this on this card (to which I added Turquoise Stickle centers) as the turquoise along with the Copic marker colored coffee cups. A little bit of Distress Stickles & Crystal Stickles add to the aroma wafts coming from the coffee (sorry, they are not dry yet in the photo - I had to get the pic before the sun goes down & get this posted for the deadline). Have I mentioned I love distressing paper so much now? Just a touch on this card. I hope you like it. Please leave a comment if you do!

The countdown is on to my blogoversary giveaway! Details to come within the next week or so. I am gathering up some goodies to give to at least one lucky blog reader on the day of my blogoversary... so come back to visit soon.

Enjoy,
-Roberta
