Zero's Zero Impersonation

Time for cute pictures now. This is my little Zero. Yes, he's named after Zero, the dog in Nightmare Before Christmas (NBC). He almost constantly has this orange ball in his mouth. Now mind you, he has about a dozen of these little balls in all different colors, but the orange one is without a doubt his favorite. We couldn't figure out why - DUH! The character Zero in NBC has a Jack o' Lantern for a nose, so I guess he's just emulating his namesake!

The time he doesn't have the ball in his mouth is when I'm trying to take a picture of him with it! He will drop the ball, give a look like "what ARE you doing?" and run up to the camera and/or start barking at me. Gotta love those ears! And yes, he hears everything!

Thankful

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I did enjoy my four day weekend. We had a nice Turkey Day dinner with Marc's family and yes, I cooked! No problem though as I do like to cook. I even made an apple pie and a pumpkin pie. Yummy! Here's a pic of Jac & Zero taken a couple weeks ago. Zero is getting bigger and his fur is coming in nicely. It won't be long before he's as fuzzy as Jac! Poor Jac will never have the ears like Zero, but that's ok - he's the one with papitude!

New movie!

In honor of the newest Tim Burton movie "9" which being released on 9/9/09, the Johnny Depp muse photo this month has been updated to a pic of Johnny with Tim Burton. If you follow my site, you know I'm a huge fan of them both. Actually, it's primarily because of his performances in Tim Burton's movies that I'm such a huge Depp fan - but then of course there's the Pirates movies! And yes, we will be at the movie theater on Wednesday to see 9 - I'll let you know my thoughts on it. Marc and I are both looking forward to it.

Thursday my little dog Zero is going to the vet to be neutered and also so the vet can do some further tests on him to hopefully figure out what might be wrong with him. He has a lump on the side of his neck and they're not sure if it's his lymph node or not. I have had differing opinions from different vets on this so far. He is feeling well, it seems, which is good.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend. We are going to a tractor show today - it's a fun one with a steam train to ride and lots of goodies to eat. We plan on going to a final county fair too this weekend. I will make some time for my art work too. :) I am sad to see summer go, but autumn is definitely one of my favorite seasons, if not my all time fave. The food is so good, the warm days and cool nights, the pumpkins and, of course: Halloween! What's not to like? ;-)

Too cute

Zero_teethbrushing
No art to post for you today... my little doggie is still sick and I'm flustered with vets trying to figure out what the problem is! YIKES! Here is my little Zero getting his teeth brushed, as we do every night before bedtime.

Little dark clouds following me?

This has been some year. My little puppy is sick. Luckily we've caught it early on and yesterday the vet put him on medication so he'll be ok. Needless to say, his little tummy's not been feeling well the past couple of days. In the meantime I did get three cards finished for submission to Whipper Snapper's summer contest, which was actually Halloween oriented! It was fun. Lucky for me, Whipper Snapper is nearby, so when I went to the post office to mail my package, the clerk said, "oh, this is for us - I'll take this right back to the mail carrier so that it can be delivered today." How wonderful! Especially since the deadline is tomorrow! I am always late... this will be one time I am one day ahead of the deadline. Since I've had a little dark cloud following me the past couple of days with nothing but bad things happening in my life, I needed a good thing.

Zero!

Zero_2009_3
Gosh he's so cute! Ok, no art to post today... I am working on projects, but again I cannot share. In the meantime, here is little Zero to amuse you. Our devil dog is back to being mostly an angel again. He is teething, poor little guy! Chewing on everything - but he is not destructive. Thank goodness!

Need a break

zero_jac_june2009
Aren't they cute? They can be... This is Zero (on left) and Jac. They are a terrible twosome now. As for me, I'm still struggling with allergies/cold. Not sure what it is. I am getting by, though. I am looking forward to the weekend! I am planning on working on my art projects and putter around the house. I just love the new Stampin' Up catalog! It's so exciting... just love the halloween items. Very gothic.

Almost made it

All winter and into the spring, I did not get sick. No cold, no flu. Sure there was an occasional day that I didn't feel well, but all in all, it passed without a major illness developing. Until now. Marc came down with a cold late last week and then it was my turn. However, in the past few years, colds never just come and go for me. They hang on and develop into that horrible cough and all that. I went through this last year big time. Personally, I think I'm allergic to something that is in the air this time of year too and that just makes it all worse. Anyway, I've missed a couple of days of work this week and am finally going to the doctor later today. It's a very good thing that my new puppy, Zero, is the best little boy ever! He is a little angel. He must think we are the most boring people to be around! We just want to lay around and cough... I can't wait until I feel better that I can take him and Jac for a walk and start doing some basic obedience training with him. My friend Diana wants me to do agility with him. Diana just happens to be an agility instructor! How convenient... Diana and Zero

Here is a photo of Diana with Zero the night we picked him up from the breeder, Mary Jo. I'm sure we will do some agility. I liked doing agility with Guinness and he liked it too. Guinness detested the car ride, which was a long one to each lesson and back and would whine, scream and dig in his cage the whole way. When he got there, it helped him burn off all that energy he had pent up - which would be good for Zero too. It was difficult for Guinness to focus, but I don't think it will be nearly so hard for Zero. It seems to come natural for him. He is very attentive. I tried doing agility with Jac, but he is more lazy! He loves to run & jump, but not climb. Zero loves to climb, run & jump. I know that already! He is so sweet and still doing very well on the housebreaking. Thank goodness. I still so miss Guinness, but Zero has given me a new view on life. He is so full of energy and happy all of the time. Even Jac likes him - except when he tries to climb on him, then he growls. Otherwise, there is no conflict between the two.

Now I just need to get better and get into the art studio to be creative and all will be right with the world again (sigh).

Announcing...

Zero! Josandre' Zero 2 Sixty, to be exact. A big thank you goes to Mary Jo Loye for allowing Zero (and Jac) to come live with us. Jac is not so sure how he feels about having Zero here, but he's doing alright. Zero is a five month old Papillon and quite full of energy.
