HMS Bounty

 My Dad always had a fascination with ships. Tall sailing ships. One of his favorite ships was the HMS Bounty. I don't know if you know the story behind the Bounty, most people have heard of it. To be brief, the Bounty that I had the honor of seeing in Milwaukee's Port while it docked at Discovery World. This Bounty is the ship that MGM movie studios created for the movie "The Mutiny on the Bounty" which starred Marlon Brando in 1962. It is a beautiful ship, created to look like it's namesake, but 1/3 the size larger in order to accommodate the photographic equipment at the time as it was in large part, a film set. It has also been used in the 2nd Pirates of the Caribbean movie (Dead Man's Chest) and also in the Sponge Bob Square Pants Movie.   



If you're ever to Milwaukee, you must visit Discovery World downtown on the lakefront. Here's a beautiful pic of it, with the Calatrava - which is part of the Milwaukee Art Museum in the background. The ship you see in this photo is the Denis Sullivan, which calls Milwaukee home during the summer months and docks at Discovery World. You can actually go out on day sail adventures on it.
