steampunk

i've completed my first steampunk piece: a necklace. i like it a lot. it is made with imperial turquoise, two sterling bezels complete with antique watch parts and ice resin. a freshwater pearl adds just the right touch to it. i used a toggle clasp - i rarely use them as i find they sometimes don't stay closed. we will see with this one. i hope it works. i have another necklace to complete, but this other one uses a klew focal piece with turquoise. i have a thing for turquoise right now! and i do so love klew's work. if you've never seen the work of karen lewis before, you must check out her website. better yet, if you get the chance - go see her work in person. it is unbelievable!

i did not feel well at all today. allergies are terrible! i came home early and took a nap. i was having trouble breathing. again, allergies were not as bad at home as they were at work. i hope that is not the case tomorrow.

they got over half of the roof done today. it looks really nice. i like the color we picked out. it looks a lot like cedar shake. it will be so nice to not have to worry about the roof any more. now we've got mega painting to do - inside and outside. and some drywall repair. marc has to install the bathroom vent/heater fans. just more than two weeks 'til WDW. excitement is mounting!
