catch up

today was a catch up day for a lot of things. got some laundry done. did some yard work around the home. home sweet home and here'sa pic of it. cute, isn't it. yes, this is the home that needs a new roof. i did FINALLY get the fountain running in my "mini" pond off the patio... basically i had to - the mosquitos had taken it over and without the constantly moving water from the fountain they had their own private hatchery there! YIKES. in another week or two we will get some feeder goldfish to put in there. basically they are cheap, sometimes non-de-script goldfish that people buy to feed to other fish/animals. i like it because i am saving their lives. the last few we had lived to be about 4 - 5 years old. in the winter we bring them indoors to a fish tank we have in the basement as the pond isn't deep enough to sustain them - they would freeze solid. in the meantime, marc got stung by a wasp while he was trying to put the lawn mower away this afternoon. thank goodness it was not me - i am allergic. last time that happened, when i was a teenager, my whole arm swelled up. i avoid them as much as humanly possible. not that i'm glad it happened to marc - i'm just glad i didn't get stung. i did have to trim a couple of my red bud trees as they were growing downwards and we couldn't get under them.

today i did get the stampin' up stamps i ordered about two weeks ago. i also got the book "secrets of rusty things" by michael demeng. very interesting. i just love his work. he's got that vampirish goth thing going on. i've always loved that dark side of life (or is it death?). if you read my ipod play list you'll understand - that is if you even know who those bands are... so many people do not. the dean martin throws them off. don't ask about the dean martin but i will add the that majority of his music that's on there is christmas holiday music. not all of it entirely, but the majority of it. enough said. i worked on my projects. i'm working on some atc's, a collage, and an altered book. so much to do - so little time. and now the weekend is over. i will steal time throughout the week whenever i can.

i would love to go see his holiness the dalai lama in madison this week. i did go to all of his lectures last year about this time. he is here the entire week, including saturday. that was a bit too much time off of work for me. especially right now.

let's hope the government does come to freddie mac & fannie mae's rescue. most people don't have a clue who or what they are. i do - it's my bread and butter. i sell loans to them. that's my job. without them, i would have no job. period. also, people would not be able to get fixed rate loans without them. and in some cases, ARM loans. mortgage financing period. this is big. not just for me, but for the entire u.s. economy. the whole thing is just terrifying. thank goodness i have my art work to keep my mind occupied or i'd be a basket case.
