the work week is just dragging this week. it helps that i'm so busy at work, but the weekend seems so far away nonetheless. i just keep thinking about my week at disney world coming up and that keeps me going! guinness is doing much better. it has taken him about a week to get over what ever was bothering his tummy this time. good grief that dog has such a delicate constitution! he's a dog for goodness sake! he would never make it in the wild eating whatever comes along. jac wouldn't either for that matter. 

i've been plugging away at my art projects. painting, stitching, stamping. its fun. there is always something to do. i've now moved most of my supplies into the dining area of the living room. marc is not altogether pleased that i'm using the dining table as my worktable. i have it covered with plastic and paper bags. plus all of my supplies are everywhere. its the only way i can get to work on projects in bits and pieces of time when i can. 20 minutes in the morning before i go to work. 10-15 minutes at lunch. 30 minutes to one hour at night. even the dogs have tolerated me working this way. the weekend is the only time i have a solid hour or two at a crack to work on my art. i'll take whatever time i can get, whenever i can get it. plus, with my stuff upstairs, i do not have to "cat proof" everything at all times. bean gets into everything downstairs. upstairs, she resides in her kitty condo, so she doesn't have free range of the place. this weekend i should get the stampin' up stamps i ordered last week. can't wait. i just love getting new stuff. 

we will be getting a new roof within the next few weeks. we've known since we bought the place over eight years ago that we'd need a new roof. it's time. besides, the cost keeps going up because asphalt shingles are petroleum based. if we wait until next year it will be that much more expensive. a cousin of marc's is going to do the new roof. he's a professional roofer and really takes pride in his work, you can tell. he did marc's mom's roof and it looks great. we are trying to pick out the color for the shingles, most people wouldn't give it more than a few minutes thought. of course i am obsessing over this choice! i'll have to live with this color choice for the rest of my life! luckily, marc and i like the same color choices so we can narrow it down to two choices to pick from. oh boy.
