need a break

we so need a break from the rain. it has been raining just about every day this month. last saturday night we got about 9 inches of rain here where i live. we have broken all weather records for amount of rain received in the month of june and it is only the 14th of the month. crazy. they are talking about 500 year flooding. its just nuts. i took this photo tonight as the latest storm passed. we have a full month coming in the next couple of days and tonight the sky was especially beautiful shining through the trees. my friend's husband came and patched our roof this week. we are looking into getting the roof replaced, if we can afford it. that remains to be seen. 

i continue to experiment with my art projects. two more weeks until my artist retreat. i'm so excited. i'll post more when i get a bit further on my latest projects to see how they are  turning out. its really cool. something totally new. i got some more supplies today. is it possible to ever have enough or too much? i went to another estate sale (down the street from my house) and got a wonderful vintage tackle box in excellent condition. i also got a kind of sort of tiny suitcase. not sure what it's for, but its also in excellent condition. i got some aluminum screen to use in my projects. fun, fun, fun!

i've got my car back. it's all fixed. it's not loud any more. i did miss it. i like my car. it is the only car i've ever owned for this long - it will be nine years in september. i don't tire of driving it. it's comfortable. maybe in the next year or two i'll think about a new one. i've only got 75k miles on it, so it's practically new, right?!
