how cool

last night i went to see the black rebel motorcycle club in concert. my friend, julie, took me along as she was to introduce the band as the radio station that she dj's at (wmse) was hosting the show. i got back stage and got to meet one of the band members, peter. he was very polite, very shy it seems. he looked very tired. they are on a grueling tour schedule. i cannot imagine what that is like. they seem like a good bunch of guys - they are doing what they love to do: make music. they are absolutely excellent live and played for over two hours. i had seen them a few years before with julie too. i forgot how much they are into strobe lights. i'm so glad they didn't spark a migraine! my ears were still buzzing this morning, even though i wore ear plugs through most of the concert. they are a loud bunch! fortunately or unfortunately, that's the way i like my music. especially feedback, and they do feedback well. almost as good as the jesus and mary chain. as they get back together now once in awhile for shows, i'm still hoping to see them again.

today marc and i went antiquing. of course, i got a few more cabinet cards. i also bought a kodak brownie camera and the instruction manual. how cool is that? i've thought about getting a brownie, my dad had one when i was a kid and yes, he used it for photos. i never could figure them out when i looked at them at antique shops. now that i have the instruction manual, i could play around with it at least. it even came with a box of film! not sure if it's still good as it was dated 1963. good grief. i also got some mica for my art projects. tomorrow i am going to stay home (after we go for breakfast, we do every weekend) and work on my projects. then later in the day i have to do some cleaning around here. the house has gotten out of hand.
