spring time is here

i think it is undeniable that spring time is finally here now. we've had over 70 degrees for the past two days. the spring flowers are blooming like mad. daffodils are everywhere. i just love daffodils. irises too, but they are not blooming yet. they are, however, growing like crazy. their time will be soon enough. 

i am contemplating going back to school. i do think i am mad. however, alverno college has a web design certificate program. it is either that, or go to carroll college for their arts program. good grief, tuition is so expensive! $640 a credit is what alverno is getting nowadays. how do young kids do it? deep in debt, i'm sure. in the meantime, i need to think about this. weigh my options and maybe go to see a shrink! the time, money and dedication that's required for school is tremendous. i know because i've so been there and done that. i was in school for so long before i finally did get the piece of paper that comes with it. i've also got the student loans to show (pay) for it. they will be around a lot longer. probably another 20 years. egads! i hate to think about it. this time there would be no loans. i'd have to pay for it myself. but what do i want to be when i grow up? will someone please tell me? i cannot decide. both options allow me to express my creativity. maybe a little bit of both? oh boy... what do i have in store for myself? 

i did have so much fun this weekend with marc. for my birthday weekend, he took me to janesville where there are two rubber stamp stores. ok, one is a scrapbook store, but they carry so many stamps. i found the basic grey paper i've been looking for and i got a couple of stamps. a couple stampscapes and a magenta. i tried to keep it simple. we went to some antique stores and at one i found a rits dye display from the early 60's. it's in very good condition and i figure i can either use it for stamp pads (it's almost perfect for some size rubber stamp ink pads) or to display something. besides, it looks really cool in my studio. i'll have to post a photo. i got a couple of cabinet cards too. always on the look out for cabinet cards now. sometimes they are expensive, sometimes reasonably priced and, occasionally - they are VERY reasonable. i snatch those up right away. i got some really neat ones this time. not cheap, but not expensive. 

in the meantime, i have my domain name registered and am working on the alias to get my .mac account to recognize it. for some reason, although i've followed their instructions, it will not pick it up. i need to call the tech support to find out why. you see, if i had taken that web design class, i bet i'd know what the problem was. give it time. i always have something that i'm working on. lately, it's always related to the web. i spent a good part of my day at work working on the department website. i really enjoy that, except for the data entry part. typing. (like i'm doing now?!) although there i'm typing what someone else wrote and sometimes the way it's written bothers me. the way it's formated, typically. i like things to look a certain way, i guess. i like it to be user friendly (easy to locate) and just plain look nice.
