Postcard book

i am working on an challenge entry for QAM. this is my first attempt at a fabric book of any kind! It started with fabric paper (a wonderfully fun process unto itself!) which is sandwiched in a felt base, added transparency photos and embellishments such as paints, beads, buttons, charm, shells - you name it - even a feather. i began the process by sketching it out in my "idea" sketchbook (this is how most of my pieces evolve) - auditioning photos from our trip to Walt Disney World in 2006. this is one of our favorite places to visit. we try to go once a year. anyway, i wanted to show that even a touristy destination such as WDW can be made into your own experience just by looking at the little details you can find. i am always on the look for an interesting stone in the parking lot, a feather blowing around in the grass, even a unique photograph like the palms trees being replaced at the hotel or a dragonfly basking in the sun on a fence by the water. and i am always taking photos from the plane. clouds and land formations from the sky are so beautiful.
